I will be doing what I do every year at this time spending it alone, or more likely asleep in bed, I can’t ever remember a time really when I actually went out and celebrated, even in my early 20’s I was always working or always had to be at work early the next day so I just never partied, never got into the whole whoopee-doo sha-bang theory of let’s get drunk tonight! I guess its ok for some people but its a waste of money to me, I guess I am your basic, classic party-pooper!!! LOL!  What can I say?   Party animal I am not!!  Never was but hey if you like to do this sort of thing and can do it without hurting yourself or harming others, go for it, have a drink for me while you are at it. 

I take so much medicine I can hardly even remember what a good mixed drink tasted like; 

Sad but true.

So this sad pathetic old sour grape ( moi) will be spending her big New Year’s Eve alone again with her “furbabies” but that’s ok, at least they love me;

You all have a good time tonight and just make sure you have a designated driver ok?

I understand what it is to lose a loved one and I understand what its like to lose your Mother as my own passed away in 1997.  

I think its even more depressing and hard to have lost a loved one through the holidays, I am however glad that she got to have her Mom home with her for Christmas instead of in the hospital, no one likes to be in the hospital over Christmas or any other day, so they got to share with each other one last Christmas and that makes me smile. 

Her Mom sure was a fighter and never gave up, she lived a long life and I hope that most of it was a good one for her, she was 92 , she is the same dear lady I had previously done a page on when they all celebrated her 92 Nd. birthday recently if you scroll back through a few posts of mine you can see a photo of her there and read about her, and I do have Jerzgirl’s blog here on my blog you can click on her link to get to her blog too.  I am sure she will be posting more about her Mother when she gets some free time or feels up to it. 

I told her today on a sympathy card that I hoped our two Moms were now friends up in heaven, I like to think that they would be, it gives me comfort to think that and I hope it will Wendy too;  

Death is something we all have to face at some point in time and its not an easy subject for any of us, I sure have seen plenty of it in my family and I don’t fear death and I haven’t since losing my own Mother and a brother previously and a whole bunch more of close family members, all my Grandparents are long gone, My own Father is 81 will be 82 in May of 2009 if his health allows him to have another birthday??  Who knows for sure? None of us know when our time will come so live each day as best you can, I know its easier said than done, even for myself I don’t always take my advice…(G)! 

So I say to your Mother ( Jerzgirl) may she rest in peace! I know you loved her dearly, and will miss her. 

Good Lordy why is it that Monday’s are so darn hetic and crazy busy?  I had planned on taking my cat Minx back to the Veterinary clinic today but had so many other errands this morning and had to make a stop at my Chiropractor I woke up very very stiff and could hardly move this morning so I needed a treatment and I needed it badly, but now I am feeling guilty for not getting my cat back to the Vet’s; so far today she has not “tossed her cookies”, she has kept both wet food down and her dry food so who knows?  I  am hoping tomorrow will be a calmer, slower day for me and I can get her back there for her check up;  

The weather has warmed up a bit the last couple of days and I also had planned on taking her out to the farm to visit the dogs, my silly cat just loves my dogs and she misses them so much, when I come home and take off my gloves and stuff and lay them on the couch , she will hop up there  and “sniff” them and roll on them and then lay on my gloves I guess that makes her feel closer to them (g)!! 

But she really really does love them and I know she is missing them big time!  Poor Honey!  I just don’t know what to do about it though even though the temperture as I said has warmed up the last few days, ( crazy ass weather) the winds are still cool enough I just don’t think she needs to be out in it too long and once I take her back to the farm and release her she’s not gonna want to come back inside the pet carrier anytime soon if you know what I mean .

My poor Minx is still not feeling well, I’ve been gone all day until about an hour ago, came home the first thing I do is to feed my cats, as they are meowing me to death that they are starving..LOL! 

So I get them some canned cat food, they have dry food that stays out all the time for them but I do feed them bits of wet canned food off and on throughout the day;  Anyway I no more feed Minx, park my butt here on the computer and I hear her “tossing her cookies”   er Cat food I guess I should say (G)~!    Poor Honey and right on my only rug in the whole house too, on my kitchen rug now this is a big rug, not the kind you can easily stick in a washing machine you know? GGGGRRR!    She’s been doing really good about not getting anything on the rug but not today not when Momma comes home with a stuffed gut from yet another holiday feasting out at the farm;  

So I get my rags again, no paper towels in the house at all, wipe up the three spots/piles she left me and threw them all in the washing machine again;

Yesterday she threw up just plain liquids three times and yet she ate later in the day and kept it down as far as I know there might be a ton of unwanted “surprises” for me under my bed or behind the couch, BLEH!  But she is due back for a check up and I hadn’t taken her because of the cold icy weather we had so now we need to go, something in her tummy /chest is still not right for her to be tossing up her canned food;  So I guess this pnuemonia is a hanging on to her system (poor kitty) I know she is hungry for more food and wants to eat but she just throws up every so often, I just pray my other cat Screamer doesn’t get sick too;   So that’s how my day is going here.  I just wanted to come home and take a nap;  

This crazy weather here in Missouri is just nuts I swear it is.  We had really warm weather yesterday up to like 65 degree’s it melted the last of the little snow we had and the ice piles in places, like out at the Farm that ice on the driveway out there was so slick, and treacherous to walk on, I had to have my ice cleats on daily to get down there to the shed to see to my pets;   So as I said we’ve had so many crazy weather changes the last couple of days and its murder on my body, ( pain wise) its just killing me earlier today all morning long we had really severe weather move through here,  even Tornado warnings out for a long time this morning can you believe that??  Well it was Jan of 2008 when Missouri had so many tornado’s rip through many counties had been declared disaster area’s , same as we had with the ice last December, many counties had been declared as disaster area’s it was horrible, then come spring of 2008 we had major flooding and again many many counties were declared disaster area’s makes you wonder what the heck is in store for us come 2009.  The temperture has dropped since this morning and I hope the rain has ended as I look outside in my street there is so much water in the park its like small ponds have formed over there, and the water is across the street here it has no place to go and if some “ninny” tries to drive through they are going to find themselves stalled out in the street, yeah there is always some Nim-rod who thinks they can get through this part of the street when it floods… silly kids mostly, they gotta learn right?  LOL!

But later this evening as the temperture goes down now they are calling for possible snow showers??  HUH?!!

That’s Missouri’s weather if you don’t like it hang on its probably gonna change on you;

Thank The Lord we don’t get the 2-4 feet of snow that some places have gotten out in CO.  noooo thank you!

I’d not be able to get out until springtime!

I’m sure this nasty weather is also headed North, Northeast, so look out people, bad weather is coming your way via strong thunderstorms and possible tornado’s…stay sharp pay attention!  Mother Nature has a mind of her own these days! 

My local news channel does some great stories on there besides the daily news and Weather, recently one such story was covered and I had heard of it in the past but always missed it or forgot about it and it was on the other night before Christmas and I thought I’d share it with you here today;   Columbia is so close to where I live here in Missouri but just never seem to get the time to go anywhere or see anything like this, but you can see a short video clip of the CrabApple tree being decorated, how many lights this dedicated Man and his son go through and check and hang on this tree, I’m going to post the link to my local news channel’s website where you can see the video, and read more on this great story;  Here is the main link for you;

I think you’ll enjoy taking a few minutes to wander through here and really enjoy all the beauty and time and energy this man and his family spends, I understand that many many people not only from Columbia drive there each year to see his beautiful tree but so many from all over Mid-Missouri come to see it;  So I think that says quite a lot and I myself really enjoyed this clip on Tv the other night as beautiful as it was to see it on TV, I know its nothing like seeing it close up and firsthand  I am sure its just Stunning!

It just was a really great story, thank you KOMU Channel 8 and thank you to the man who takes all this time, days and weeks and months preparing this beauty for the Holiday Season, now that’s some Christmas Spirit I think;

I don’t know about the rest of you but I am just “stuffed”. We had so much food again, You’d think we were trying to feed a small army instead of just family;  We had baked honey ham, Leftover Turkey and Dressing,  Sweet potatoes, greenbean casserole, coleslaw, rolls, Gravy of course mashed potatoes and some pistachio fluff along with Cheesecake for dessert, pumpkin pie, and home made Apple pie and I know I’m forgetting some things but good grief!!  Way too much food,  always way too much food yikes!

And once again we are having to do this all over again on Sunday as my idiot family cannot ever get together on the same days anymore it just drives me nuts more mental than anything else, I’ve got things to do and I know my 81 year old grouchy Father is damn sick and tired of it too; 

Like we are each year but does anyone care ??

NOOOooooo  they just want to come to the farm where they expect us to constantly fix it all for them;  I am just very very tired of it and when the day comes that he is gone, ( passed on) all this shit is going to come to a screeching halt, no more gatherings like this at the farm, that’s all we’ve done my whole life fix food, bake food and cann food and on and on;   My Back is just screaming in pain from it all and the huge mess of dishes it creates oh My God!  So I’m looking forward to a long nap today that’s my Christmas gift now a nice long nap;     

Happy Holiday’s I’ll be so glad when its all over with, one more big event here on Sunday and then my Dad and I can rest for awhile , rest while Mother Nature takes over with the winter weather;   

It’s Christmas Eve Day, and its been a busy one for me, and I’m sure for my Father as well both of us trying to get things prepared for tomorrow’s Dinner, still not sure who all will be there but none the less the biggest part of the meal is now finished; 

Thankfully I got my Apple pies done once I got back home this morning, boy was it ever nasty outside crazy Missouri Weather I swear when I left it was freezing rain, ( sprinkling) thank Goodness,  I had to run into the grocery store to grab some last minute items My Dad wanted, when I came out it was sleeting like crazy I was only in there a couple of minutes.  Once I got out to the farm it was snowing and the wind was blowing like crazy, I had left here earlier than normal as I was trying to “beat the weather” they kept talking about all last night and early this morning…GGEEZZZ!

And by the time I left the farm the sun had come out, can you believe that?  Crazy, just plain Crazy!  I still cannot believe its Christmas already  and this month is almost gone and a New Year will begin… I hope 2009 turns out to be better than 2008 has but I don’t know;  The Weather is so crazy right now so many states are dealing with heavy snows and more ice and its just gone mad the weather has just  gone mad; 

I hope everyone has a great time this evening opening their gifts if they do on Christmas Eve, we used to maybe get to open One of our gifts and that was it the rest was always opened on Christmas Morning, but that ages and eon’s ago…LOL!

Wow!  Only Two days left til Christmas, that’s so hard to believe, where oh where has this year gone too, seems like we just finished up with Thanksgiving and now Christmas:

So much to do still before the gathering of the family out at the farm, tomorrow once again I’ll be making home made Apple Pie the cheesecakes are already done and in the freezer,  the pumpkin pies are made and in the freezer;  Cookies are made and “most” are in the freezer  the rest have been devoured , they were pretty good actually;   The Ham has been purchased and waiting to be fixed not sure if we’ll do that tomorrow or Christmas morning, to bake a ham does not really take all that long but knowing my spastic Father he will bake it tomorrow;

If you were to walk in out at the farm you would not know it was Christmas at all, My Father is not one to decorate, he never was I’m surprised we kids had a tree or anything that looked like Christmas when we were young as we got older it became less and less;  He is Scrooge personified;  Oh he has decorations over the years I have bought him many beautiful Wreaths to hang on the door inside and outside they sit in the closet in one of the bedrooms upstairs in a wreath box;   He has plenty of other floral “fake poinsettia’s” to put out but he chooses not too;  He is just a scrooge through and through;  Now if his older Son ‘EVER” gave him or suggested that he decorate he would, but not for me or for his Grandkids…

Ppffttt!!   

So once again its Christmas time and the dear old Farm house has no sign of it anywhere except for maybe outside there will be some snow that has not melted or stinky Ice, or sleet that we are getting today;  HO HO HO!  I hate this kind of weather with a passion;

Brother dearest is coming up for Christmas on Thursday which really surprises me I mean he was just here on Thanksgiving; very strange indeed for him to be here for two holidays back to back, he only lives like 90 minutes away but still its strange for him to come up again;   “scary”!!!

My home is very much decorated for Christmas if you scroll back through my blog you’ll see photo’s of my Christmas tree and I have also put up a slide show of my Christmas decorations;

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

I know when I say that dealing with the “frigid weather” this time of year is just Brutal on one’s body;

For mine its just been pure hell these past several days our temperture here in Missouri is nothing like some other states but its been bad enough.  Temperture this morning was a whole (1 degree) the wind chill was like (-14 below) 

Thankfully this morning the blasted wind had died down a lot so I guess we sorta are having a brief heat wave…ha!  It does not feel that way trust me; 

For me the biggest problem are my neck and back injuries that I got from that blasted car accident back in 1996 , the left side of my neck feels like there is a big old two by four ( big board) sticking out of my neck, I kid you not; 

My jawbone on the left side has the worst TMJ there that whole bone structure on my face just hurts, it hurts so badly I am reduced to eating soft foods, nothing hard or piercing you know like fried Chicken or something of that nature; 

If this worsens and it has in the past when the weather is just frigid for days on end, My jaw will lock up, if you’ve never had this experience let me explain it to you, your jaw bone does just that, it locks up to where you can barely open your mouth to speak, to eat to drink , a couple of years ago maybe two years it was so bad I could barely get a straw into my mouth to eat, that was my way of eating via a straw I was living on Milk shakes, juices, yogurt, it was horrible and the pain is just nothing like you’d expect; 

Have you ever had a really painful experience at the dentist, ok so imagine that plus more pain than you can just bare?  That’s how bad this is;  I swear I’d rather have surgery and be awake; No, I’m not exaggerating in the least this sort of pain just makes you have to take your strongest pain meds, and knock yourself out and forget the world around you;  I fear I am headed in this direction right now I’ve got a really bad sinusitis infection which I have meds for this too, my stupid body cannot fight off “anything” my  immune  system is just basically nothing so with all of this blasted frigid air we’ve had day after day after day and the pain I’ve been experiencing in my jaw is telling me that it is going to lock up on me, and I just pray to God that does not happen, I don’t need this;  If you suffer with this type of pain or others please feel free to stop by and leave comments down below I know I am not the only one who suffers like this in my neck, my jaw…I can only wish for Spring to arrive but that’s a long long ways off now…(sigh)!

Happy holidays to you!!   If I was out in some of that horrible weather like the ones shown on tv  in those big car pile ups they had I’d just have to go to the hospital,  My jaw and my neck and back injuries would just tear me up to be out in the weather that long;

I feel badly for them and I feel badly for the others that have really really horrible terrible cold weather and tons of snow;  How do you survive there??
